You could say Serena Williams is already having a great 2017. The tennis pro started off the year newly engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and now she's already crushing the Australian Open, most recently beating out rival Belinda Bencic in the tournament's second round. While Williams was busy serving up aces, her fiancé was adorably cheering on the tennis superstar in the stands.
You'd think with all this joy there would be wedding bells on the way sooner than later, but Williams hasn't even put thought into any of that—yet.
Understandably, Williams hasn't even had a moment to take in everything that comes with an engagement and wedding—she's been focusing on winning matches! When a reporter asked her about the recent and important milestone in her life at a post-match press conference, she admitted that it hasn't been at the forefront of her mind. "I guess it feels good," the tennis star told a crowd of reporters. "I really haven't thought about it too much because I wasn't even going to think about it until after the tournament," she explained. "I just kept saying that February I'll start looking at the bigger picture of my life, but right now I'm just so focused that this is all I can think about."
Another reporter asked what Williams loved the most about Ohanian. "He's a really nice person, and I definitely think he treats everyone the same, which is really, really cool to see," she said with a smile. We wish Williams luck in the tournament, and can't wait to see how her wedding plans unfold!
