This past weekend, Suits star Patrick J. Adams married his longtime girlfriend and Pretty Little Liars co-star, Troian Bellisario, in a beautiful California wedding. While many of the couple's co-stars and friends attended the three-day celebration, Adams's "work fiancée" on the set of Suits, Meghan Markle, did not. But, it turns out, she had a pretty thoughtful reason as to why.
With all of the press following Markle and boyfriend Prince Harry, she thought attending might not be the best idea. Markle talked to Adams about the situation, and came up with a solution. "They both kind of agreed that maybe her coming would attract too much (of the wrong kind of) attention," a source told Us Weekly. "They both thought it sucked." But on the other hand, another source told the magazine that, "Meghan had no plans to attend the wedding, and that conversation never happened." On Saturday, Markle posted an Instagram that read, "In a society that profits from your self doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act." She captioned the photo, "In that case – be a rebel, friends."
While Markle was spotted out in Toronto on Saturday, 200 guests joined Adams and Bellisario for their chic bohemian wedding in southern California. The couple said "I do" in a stunning outdoor ceremony, with trees and candles as aisle décor.
The bride wore a white Cortana gown and a crown-like headpiece, while the groom wore a navy blue suit. Notable guests, like Sarah Rafferty, Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Keegan Allen, Ian Harding, and Chris Pine attended the celestial-inspired wedding.
The weekend, which the couple dubbed "Fort Day," included glamorous camping, or "glamping." Guests all boarded a converted school bus that read "almost married" and stayed in tents during the weekend.
Adams and Bellisario shared a stunning photo of the two looking out into the setting sun. Bellisario captioned the photo, "I can truly say that I have never had a more beautiful or happier three days in my life, but what's more incredible than that was that right in the middle of it I married my best friend. @halfadams I love you. Always and in all ways." Congrats to the happy couple!
