Deciding on a name is one of the most exciting parts for parents-to-be—and that includes actors Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who are expecting baby number two. However, one of Kutcher's suggestions for their son "didn't pass the Mila threshold." The name? Hawkeye!
"There was a rallying cry from a collective that believed in the name Hawkeye," Kutcher said on Conan Wednesday. "I'm an Iowan, so to have a kid named Hawkeye?" Kutcher is referring, of course, to the University of Iowa mascot. And, he added, "It's like M.A.S.H.! Like, he could be a doctor!"
But this idea "didn't fly" with Mila. "It didn't cross the Mila threshold. It came to the threshold, but then it got knocked down." Baby Boy Kutcher does have a name, though: "We have a name dialed in that we've had for a while," Kutcher said. "But the problem is, if you get the name too soon, suddenly there's like slight trepidation about the name. The other day, Mila was like, 'So, you still like the name?' And I was like, 'Yeah.' And she was like, 'Why was it the high pitch yeah? Why wasn't it the low pitch yeah?' Then I was like, 'Well, you like the name, right?' She was like, 'Yeah.' Like, 'Why did you say it like that?'"
If that's confusing for you, you're not alone. "Now we're like, 'Maybe we don't love the name,' even though we both love the name!" he said, laughing. "So, I think we have a name." It will likely be unique, like the name of their daughter, Wyatt, who the couple welcomed in 2014, but not quite as unique as "Hawkeye." We can't wait to hear it!
