Ellen DeGeneres is the first to admit that she is incredibly lucky for everything she has—whether it's her Emmy-winning talk show to her marriage to Portia de Rossi. "I'm grateful for everything," she told People. "I'm grateful for my health, and I'm so grateful for the love in my life because not everybody finds that. Not everybody finds that best friend."
Since marrying de Rossi in 2008, DeGeneres says they constantly tell each other how lucky they are. "Sometimes it's lying in bed at night before I go to sleep, and I just say thank you to whatever, whoever is out there," she said. "I've gotten to a place where I am really just settled. Really. I know that I'm not going anywhere. She's not going anywhere. I'm not saying the relationship took a while; I'm saying in my life, it took a while to find this."
DeGeneres and de Rossi tied the knot in August 2008 and live in Los Angeles with their three cats and three dogs. Despite their busy careers, they always make sure to find time to spend with one another. "Our priorities are each other too," she said. "If we had kids, I'm sure they would be, but we are. And that's important."
DeGeneres continued to gush about her wife, and said, "there's no best part" about their marriage, "it's everything." She added, "I can't imagine not being married. I have my best friend, the person I want to spend time with more than anybody else in the world." Now that sounds like true love!
