Back-to-school photos and Fashion Week buzz fill social media feeds, while outside, the forests put on a spectacular show, their leaves turning orange, yellow, and crimson. Fall. From food to fashion to flowers, our new issue celebrates the festive season's most stylish wedding ideas sure to inspire your own party planning.
For our Style Issue's fashion feature, the Martha Stewart Weddings team traveled to the Rock of Ages granite quarry in Vermont to photograph 14 show-stopping gowns with modern silhouettes and one-of-a-kind embellishments guaranteed to make your wedding-day look stand apart.
Once you've found your dress, turn to our Planner section, where we've created the ultimate day-of emergency kit for last-minute fashion fixes. You'll also find tips for taking your dress on the road from one of New York City's top dry cleaning businesses, as well as a host of other sartorial solutions. We've also rounded up nine fresh tech tools to make prepping and celebrating easier, supplied need-to-know details if you're planning a wedding in an untraditional venue, and last but certainly not least, provided the "loo-down" on portable bathrooms.
Next comes accessorizing, and our style section includes pages of stunning, heirloom-worthy gems, as well as shoes, bags, and hair pieces for every aesthetic. We've also taken inspiration from fashion's greatest icons (Grace Kelly, Stevie Nicks, and Kate Moss, to name a few) and translated their styles to modern wedding day looks you can wear down the aisle.
The issue is filled with new ideas for day-of details, too. We've created bridesmaid looks, reception table settings, signature cocktail ideas and more in our favorite fall color palette—blush and berry. In our signature "Good Things" section, you'll find smart save-the-date, accessory and décor DIYs, fabulous favors, and find out what our new favorite dessert it.
On our cover, we've turned the spotlight on over-the-top floral arrangements, including a lavish bouquet, a wall of blossoms, an extravagant centerpiece and a carpet of blooms in rich jewel tones (because less isn't always more). We also visited L.A.-based florist Clover Chadwick who shows off her incredible seasonal arrangements.
You'll also find inspiration from some of the country's most beautiful real weddings including a Mediterranean-inspired fete in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a rustic party in California Wine Country, and an elegant, art-centric celebration at one of New York City's most fashionable hotels. There's a lakeside wedding in Minnesota, a preppy seaside celebration in Maryland, and a chic rooftop soirée in Seattle, too.
Finally, it's on to the honeymoon. Our travel experts have uncovered romantic, under-the-radar European cities and sandy spots that offer activities beyond the beach. We also hear from a real couple back from their honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico, who share their favorite hotel, activities, and more from their romantic trip to make it easier to chart your own visit there. Before you book, check out our new honeymoon deals, with three discounted romantic getaways exclusive to MSW.
The new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings is on stands Monday, September 5!
