They may be keeping the venue and date top secret, but Vanderpump Rules stars Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz totally opened up about their planning process and what we can expect from their "ethereal and romantic" wedding in Northern California. "The thing I'm most excited about is that we get to have so many of our close friends and family there," said the groom-to-be. "I know it's cheesy a little, but it makes it that much more special."
Schwartz described their NorCal wedding venue, where the couple will host more than 100 guests, as "picturesque." "We wanted it to be secluded in the woods," he told E!. "And it's just that, it's so pretty." The couple both described the affair as having a "woodsy elegance" theme, a trend we've been loving here for a while. "The goal for our wedding was to be in nature. I'm from Park City, Utah, in the mountains, and he grew up in Minnesota," Maloney shared. The bride-to-be found the venue through one of her friends, who had been there for another wedding. "[She] was like, 'Oh my gosh, this place is for you…' Without even visiting it, we set a date a put a deposit down … when we finally got to see it, I was so blown away," Maloney gushed.
"What I love about Northern California and [the venue] is that they have a lot of farm-to-table, organic, fresh, delicious food," Maloney, the co-founder of Pucker & Pout, shared. "So the catering that was a no-brainer, that was easy." Flowers on the other hand, she "struggled" with. "I didn't even know the names of flowers. What's a peony, what does that look like? What does a dahlia look like? I didn't know any of that." Luckily, that's an issue many brides face, and Maloney was able to get some help along the way. "Because of the venue and where we are, it's so beautiful, we don't have to do a lot to spruce it up, just some accents," she said.
As for the fashions, Schwartz revealed that this was his first time getting a tux custom-made. "I usually just buy off the rack," he said. "But this was handmade from head to toe, so it was a really cool experience for me." Maloney, too, had a great experience finding a wedding gown. "When I put [my dress] on, I got goose bumps and I knew that was the dress I was going to marry him in, and it had all the elements that I really, really wanted," she shared. "I tried on some other dresses that were a little too bridal for me and then I put this on. For me, it's unique and it's different and it's very me."
