Tatyana Ali aka Ashley Banks of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, is officially married! Ali tied the knot over the weekend during an intimate Beverly Hills ceremony to Dr. Vaughn Rasberry, her boyfriend of almost two years. The couple, who met on eHarmony, announced their engagement and Ali's pregnancy back in March of this year.
The couple truly wanted the occasion to be intimate: They invited a little over 100 of their "closest friends and family, and that obviously includes a lot of people that [Ali] worked with over the years," according to People.
The bride wore a fitted, silk Amsale wedding dress to the daytime Caribbean-inspired wedding, carrying a bouquet of white peonies and cream garden roses to match her off-white gown. Bridesmaids wore tea-length berry-colored gowns also from Amsale. The couple wrote their own vows while trying to keep themselves in the moment. "I've heard from a lot of friends… that it goes by fast," Ali told People before the ceremony. "I hope that we really get to savor every moment… I hope that we don't feel like, 'Oh my god, it happened and now it's done.' I hope that we're relaxed and kind of centered enough to really experience it."
The bride managed to stay stress-free before the wedding thanks to her planner, Michael Russ, but when it came to the wedding cake, the couple wasn't exactly on the same page. "I love chocolate and Vaughn loves Vanilla so [we had] a tiered cake," a perfect solution!
One of their favorite moments from their wedding was the wishing tree they set up at the reception. Guests wrote well wishes on ribbons and tied them to the branch of the small tree, which the couple will replant at their house and watch it grow over the next years of their lives together.
"It was my first time dating online," Ali told People of her and Rasberry's eHarmony courtship. "We wrote letters for months before we decided to Skype. And then, of course, met." The springtime proposal involved a "45-minute hike in the Redwoods [in Yosemite, California]," which Ali "absolutely loves." While in the forest her fiancé-to-be got down on one knee in a "picturesque clearing," and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. "Just the two of us," Ali recalled. "It was so thoughtful and perfect. We're best friends."
The happy couple is expanding their family—Ali's baby is due in at the end of this year!
