Happy anniversary to Prince William and Duchess Kate! It's been five years since we all woke up at 6 a.m. to watch the wedding of the century. Since then, Kate has worn countless chic outfits, they've welcomed two ridiculously adorable children—here's to you, George and Charlotte—and basically have just killed it as the world's favorite royal couple. To celebrate, we're looking back at their most memorable milestones.
Their first encounter
Prince William and Kate Middleton met in 2001 at St. Andrew's University, where they were both studying art history. While they were often seen together at university and even moved into the same flat while studying there, their relationship wasn't actually confirmed—or at least not denied—until 2004. Here they're pictured smiling together at their graduation—too cute!
Their engagement announcement
We may never know the intimate details of their dating life—specifically the 2007 breakup—the entire world breathed a simultaneous "aww!" when the couple officially confirmed their engagement in 2010 with the cutest engagement photo shoot ever, which produced gems like this snapshot.
And then on April 29th, 2011, came the wedding. Seriously, we don't even know how to put this incredible event into words: Her Alexander McQueen gown, the tiara, Pippa's gown (and rear end), the kiss on the balcony, the adorably unhappy flower girl—the entire world watched as the wedding of the century unfolded on live TV.
The royal couple traveled to the exclusive North Island, Seychelles for their 10-day honeymoon. Although an Australian magazine did manage to find the newlyweds and snap some paparazzi photos, most British publications chose to respect their privacy and not reprint intimate pictures.
The arrival of Prince George
The world continued to freak out over the royal couple when the palace announced Duchess Kate was pregnant with her first child. Prince George was born on July 22nd, 2013 and Britain officially welcomed the newest heir to the throne.
The birth of Princess Charlotte
Princess Charlotte came next on May 2nd, 2015 and, like clockwork, the world swooned again over the newest little princess.
Their first official family photos
Seriously, does it get any cuter than the first official photo of Will and Kate's kids?
Um, can we please be adopted into the royal family? We just love this family Christmas photo too much.
