Spinach and Strawberry Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

Sweet strawberries and tart balsamic dressing are natural pairings for fresh baby spinach leaves.

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 7 ounces baby spinach
  • 8 ounces strawberries, hulled and halved (quartered if large)
  • 1 teaspoon nigella seeds


  1. Whisk together vinegar and salt in a small bowl. Add oil in a slow, steady steam, whisking until emulsified. Place spinach and strawberries in a large bowl. Add vinaigrette; toss. Sprinkle with nigella seeds. Serve immediately.
