Exciting news for fans of My Big Fat Greek Wedding: the trailer for the long-awaited sequel to the highest-grossing wedding movie (and rom-com!) of all time is finally here—and it looks like it will be worth the long wait.
Toula (Nia Vardalos) and Ian (John Corbett) are back again, and this time the plot focuses on their teenage daughter, Paris, who is trying to decide where to go to college (hint: far away from her overbearing mom!). Plus, there is another fabulously extravagant Portokalos wedding—this time it's for Toula's parents! It turns out the priest never signed their marriage license, so they're not actually married. Of course, the wedding is over-the-top, with a pink SUV limousine, a Greek-themed wedding cake, and what looks to be an epic backyard reception.

Wondering why it took so long for a sequel the film that was released in 2002? "At the end of the first one, I had written that we were parents," Vardalos told TODAY. "And in reality, I was not a parent. Even though I make stuff up, I couldn't write from a place of emotions that I didn't know." But when she and her real-life husband, fellow actor Ian Gomez, adopted a girl in 2008 that changed.
Corbett didn't need much convincing to come back to do a sequel. "After a decade of hearing, 'Hmm, I don't know, I don't have any ideas really,' I just sort of gave up. And so it was really a huge surprise . . . she called and said, 'I got an idea. What do you think? Do you want to do it?' And nobody on this team was happier than me," Corbett told TODAY.
