Braided Half-Up-Half-Down Hairstyle
After the ceremony at her Rhode Island wedding, Jola dressed up her braided half-up-half-down hairstyle by Jennie Kay Beauty with a flower crown that coordinated with her bouquet, a cascading arrangement of vibernum berry, tuberose, dahlias, figs, variegated tree ivy, roses, pepper berry, scented geranium, and blushing bride.
Because of the humid weather on her big day at a Maryland nature sanctuary, Beth opted for an updo. Her hairstylist Carissa Lawlor of Locks & Lace used extensions to add volume before braiding and coiling Beth’s hair into place. White spring roses were the finishing touch.
At her Berkshires nuptials, Maureen had her stylist Kate Hanley create a cascading fishtail braid to add a romantic touch to her wedding look.
Adebisi had one of her bridesmaids weave fresh orchids into her updo, which peeked out from under her sheer eyelet veil at her Minneapolis wedding. Ebony Davis for Brian Graham Salon created the bridal look.
Our deputy art director Genevieve did her own hair—a loose bun on the side of her head—that she finished off with a fresh gardenia in lieu of a veil for her Martha’s Vineyard wedding.
Meaghan decided to add an antique touch to her beauty look at her San Francisco wedding. The bride tucked a vintage hairpin from Doyle & Doyle in a loose bun.
Since bride Thea owns a bridal accessories company, she designed her own floral headpiece for her North Carolina wedding. The red silk flowers complemented her dress and tied in the color scheme of her traditional Indian wedding the previous day. Gold accents added a rustic touch, while crystal vine details completed the look. Thea worked with her hairstylist from New York City, Stacy at StylesOnB, to figure out the best way to secure the piece to her head.
For her Hudson Valley barn wedding, Kristy had her blond locks styled into a milkmaid braid by her hairstylist Diana Streany. A golden mesh headband from Anthropologie that was embellished and restructured with porcelain roses and seed pearls by a bridesmaid was incorporated into the ’do, which stayed in place well into the wee hours of the morning.
