Next to the bride and groom, flower girls and ring bearers often steal the show at a nuptial celebration. And when they’re tiny princes and princesses? As these historic photos show, they are an image to behold. Here, Prince William, Prince Harry, and more royal offspring in their roles as page boys (as they’re called in Europe) and bridesmaids.
Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter, Princess Anne, donned an elaborate floral crown as the chief bridesmaid at the 1960 wedding of her aunt, Princess Margaret.
Lord Linley and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones
Princess Margaret’s children, Lord Linley and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones, wore red plaid and velvet page boy and bridesmaid outfits for a society wedding in London on February 10, 1969. Twelve years later, Lady Sarah went on to serve as the chief bridesmaid at Princess Diana’s wedding.
Princess Anne’s only daughter, Zara Phillips, looked sweet in a white bridesmaid dress and floral crown at the wedding of Richard Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax to the royal nanny’s sister, Zara Legge-Bourke, in 1985.
