Bridal Beauty Diaries: Lauren – All About the Details

Venue booked? Check. Officiant? Check. Photographer? Check. Transportation? Check. And the list goes on. Now on to the details of the wedding! I consider myself to be a pretty detail-oriented person and love when people think to add personal touches or clever tidbits to their events. However, when I begin to think of all the details that go into a wedding, I find myself becoming a little overwhelmed. Luckily, I don’t think I will need to worry too much. One of the reasons Tony and I chose our ceremony and reception venues was that they are already beautifully decorated and have interesting architectural details. We don’t want spoil or take away from their natural beauty.

Even though we will not have to add too much in the way of décor to the venues, some details have been worked out. For wedding colors, we chose a palette of deep blackberry, claret (this is a fancy word for a reddish-burgundy hue), blush pink, and antique silver (as an accent color). Deciding on wedding colors was difficult! I couldn’t stop thinking about whether or not the colors would work in the venues. We ended up going to a home improvement store, picking up a variety of paint swatches, and then mixing and matching them until we found the perfect combination for us. Once we settled on a combo, it went right into the wedding binder!

Having our wedding colors on paint swatches was very helpful when shopping around for a florist. For flowers, we chose a mix of garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, traditional roses, hanging amaranthus, and some different textural elements such as winding twigs and branches filled with small berries. A décor element that’s a little out of the ordinary that we plan on having is a couple of fresh floral garlands, which will be scalloped in front of the DJ table and bar at the reception.

We are still unsure of wedding favors at this point. Being on Pinterest really opens your mind up to all the possibilities: donuts, olive oil, soaps, candy, etc. For a personal touch we plan on collecting all of our immediate family’s wedding portraits, making black and white copies, and framing them in a variety of antique silver picture frames. We will set them out on an end table at the reception venue.

Amongst all of the wedding décor and detail planning, I have also begun my Invisalign treatment. At first it was a little bit of an adjustment, but now I think I have fallen into the rhythm of things. After the first two weeks, it really just became a part of my normal routine. I would have to say that my Invisalign treatment has been the least stressful part of the wedding planning process thus far.

Disclosure: I have received complimentary treatment from Invisalign in exchange for blogging about my bridal journey and treatment, and all opinions expressed are my own.
