The Bride and Groom To Be
The night before Sally and Christian tied the knot at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, they held a Southern-style bbq rehearsal dinner at the property's outdoor pavilion, also known as Yallarhammer.
Seasonal Starters
House-made cheeses, charcuterie, and preserves were set out for guests to nibble on upon arrival. The craftsmen for each type of food were there to talk to interested guests about the various processes involved.
Tasty Bites
Passed appetizers included these "BBQ sundaes" in small Mason jars consisting of layers of beans, barbecue, and coleslaw. Fried green tomatoes, eggplant tapenade on grilled whole grain bread, grilled oysters, grilled shrimp with white barbecue sauce, and chilled cucumber buttermilk soup shooters were also served.
A Fun Drink Display
Bottled beverages were kept cold in a canoe filled with ice.
Casual Dining
Guests sat at cypress picnic tables set on the lawn, set with colorful napkins the bride and her mother collected for the occasion.
Natural Decor
Centerpieces were on the whimsical side, with clay pots of root vegetables and feathers spilling out amongst canning jars filled with clusters of flowers. They were designed by Brian Davis from Cachepot.
Fun and Games
The couple brought corn hole for their friends and family to play.
For the Little Ones
Sally loves hula hooping, and wanted the entertaining toys to be on hand. She discovered Teton Hoops's fabric versions, and ordered a custom set befitting the farm setting.
DIY Menu
A chalkboard outlined the evening's fare.
Woodsy Warmth
Wooden lanterns added a soft glow as the sun set.
The Main Feast
Lamb, salmon, and chicken were all prepared on the grilled and served with family-style sides of macaroni and three cheeses, roasted corn kernels, mustard mashed potatoes, jalapeño cornbread, BLT salad with house-made ranch dressing, and rosemary and olive breads.
All In Jest
With the wedding day overlapping Sally's brother's birthday, he jokingly made a toast at the rehearsal dinner thanking everyone for coming so far just to celebrate his birthday.
A Sweet Spread
An assortment of pastries filled the dessert table.
Fire and Fun
Blackberry Farm also set up supplies for guests to make their own s'mores by the bonfire.
