Kari and Kevin's Surprise Wedding
After dating for 10 years, Los Angeles residents Kari and Kevin knew they wanted to ring in 2013 with a New Year's Eve wedding in Park City, Utah. But they also didn't want to impose on their would-be guests during the holidays. Their solution? A laid-back "elopement-ish" ceremony during a vacation with their four closest friends, followed by a winter-luxe celebration to welcome the New Year.
A Wintry Bouquet
Blossom Sweet created Kari's bouquet, which included pinecones, evergreen, and a variety of gray and white blooms.
The Fashions
Kari wore a simple white sheath by The Row, while Kevin sported a gray wool J.Crew suit paired with brown leather Timberland shoes.
Chic Accessories
The bride's gray suede Manolo Blahnik pumps complemented the neutral color palette.
Day-Of Activities
Before the ceremony, the women enjoyed a day at the spa and the men attended a whiskey tasting event at a nearby distillery.
A Glamorous Focal Point
Kari and Kevin chose to recite their vows in the hotel's living room, which provided a backdrop of crystal, white marble, and a stately antler chandelier.
Intimate Ceremony
Though there were no official bridesmaids or groomsmen, the couple's four guests stood with them before the officiant.
Wintry Décor
Holiday flower arrangements displayed around the hotel lent a festive feel to the space.
A Champagne Toast
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests toasted with a bottle of bubbly before heading off to a dinner at Silver, a local restaurant.
Mini Cupcakes
When the local baker forgot the couple's cake order on the big day, the pastry chef at the hotel came to the last-minute rescue by whipping up a batch of red velvet cupcakes.
