Simple Syrup for Hot Chocolate Cake

This recipe is used in our Zesty Mexican Hot Chocolate Cake.

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar


  1. In 2-cup glass measuring cup, stir together water and sugar, and heat to a simmer in a microwave. Let syrup come to room temperature before using.
