Whether your soon-to-be husband asked a number of his closest friends to serve as groomsmen in your wedding or tapped only a few right-hand men for the big day, it's important for him to show his appreciation for all that they do. If you ask us, there's no better way to express how much their support means to you both than with personalized groomsmen gifts made from the heart. If you're yearning to create a DIY present—or simply want something unique and customized—but aren't sure where to start, we have you covered.

These DIY groomsmen gifts run the gamut. They can be gifts that serve as mementos of your big day, or be as simple as a box of their favorite desserts—who doesn't love a sweet treat? Or, give them a bit of both with our DIY Menswear-Wrapped Gifts. Handmade wrapping with a nod to menswear surrounds a box filled with some of the groomsmen's favorite things. We suggest anything from bow ties to custom sweets that they're sure to love. For the guys that enjoy a good happy hour, give them their go-to drink wrapped in a custom bottle.

You can also stick to the basics to create groomsmen gifts that they will cherish for years to come. A handmade pocket square is a timeless gift they can wear when it comes time for your big day or for any formal occasion in the future. A simple thank-you can also go a long way. Create a custom card with a photo or even take it up a notch by creating a boutonnière with a personal photo. Ahead, we share more of our ideas for groomsmen gifts that won't go out of style and will help express your love for their constant support.

Boutonnière Photo

Boutonnières get a sweet upgrade when you add a photo of your loved ones to them, as evidenced by this lapel accent. To make this craft, begin by making a template for the photo: Press a piece of paper into the photo opening, and score around the edge with a pencil. Cut it out, slide it in, and resize it as needed. Next, print the photo on the heavyweight printer paper. Use the template to cut the photo to size, slide it into the accessory, and then add a jump ring to thread with a cord or ribbon and tie around the boutonnière.

Handmade Thank-You Card

A custom card that speaks from the heart will be a cherished gift for the groomsmen. Begin by choosing an image and photocopying it, reducing or enlarging to fit your card. Then cut an ink block to the approximate size of the card, allowing for a border. Lay the tracing paper over the design and trace it with a pencil. Transfer the image to an ink block by placing the paper facedown onto the block and rubbing gently with a fingernail. Carve the design into the block using a linoleum-cutting tool, with the hollow side facing up. Remember the carving will be a mirror image of the finished print, and only uncarved areas will pick up the ink—not the image itself. Next, squeeze a dollop of block-printing ink onto a paper plate. Roll the brayer over the ink until it's covered with a thin, even layer. Use the brayer to coat the block thoroughly with ink. Place the card face down on the block and rub the card gently. Reapply ink for each print. Lastly (after three prints), wash the block with warm, soapy water, and dry it with a lint-free cloth.
