An Intimate, Romantic Wedding in North Carolina
Erin and Jason
After seven years and two children, Louisiana-based Erin Moniotte and Jason Beck finally made it official. The couple -- along with their 75 guests -- traveled to the bride’s hometown of Arden, North Carolina for their English-garden inspired fete on March 17, 2012.
The Cliffs at Walnut Cove (a golf course and residential neighborhood) provided a scenic backdrop for Erin and Jason’s celebration.
Her gold Loeffler Randall wedges made walking on the grassy grounds a cinch.
A Little Memento
While sourcing her own accessories, Erin stumbled upon sparkly J.Crew bracelets. She bought them in a variety of colors as their thank-you gifts, for her daughter and the flower girls.
To honor the important men in Jason's life that had passed away, he carried sentimental tokens to represented each one: A pocket watch, gold coin, and U.S. Air Force service pin.
A Quiet Time
Jason and Erin took a moment to themselves before the ceremony and then posed for pictures with photographer Kate Headley.
A light rain didn’t stop the pre-wedding photographs, which included some shots of the couple with their two children.
Because of their own kids, the couple wanted to incorporated other young family members into their wedding as flower girls and ring bearers. They provided lots of entertainment, energy, and fun throughout the day.
The Flower Girl
A flower girl posed with her basket of rose petals. All three of the bride's petite gals wore frocks tied with gray sashes made from extra bridesmaid-dress fabric.
The Ring Bearers
The ring bearers, nephews of Erin and Jason, looked dapper in black pants, suspenders, white shirts, and green bowties from Banbury Cross.
The bride's grandmothers were escorted down the aisle to a guitar rendition of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" right before Jason and his groomsmen walked to The Beatles' "Across the Universe." Before making her debut to "Claire de Lune" Erin's bridesmaids entered to "Here Comes the Sun" (also by The Beatles) and the children followed as "You Are My Sunshine" played.
Erin and Jason wed under a huge tree in their venue's outdoor grove and then exited to "Happy Together" by The Turtles and "Come Together" by The Beatles. The two songs created a light and cheerful mood to kick-start the reception.
Husband and Wife
The couple shared a kiss after being pronounced husband and wife in front of their closest friends and family.
A seated dinner took place in the property's small pub. Its large doors were kept open, giving guests a gorgeous view and fresh mountain air.
The bride and her mother, inspired by the natural surroundings, decided to decorate the area with potted herbs in terra-cotta pots and olive-leaf garlands.
Guests were given the choice of entree: Carolina mountain trout, roasted chicken, or seared filet mignon. And in place of a traditional guest book, the newlyweds asked friends and family to sign a cookbook from nearby restaurant, Tupelo Honey Cafe.
After dinner, everyone hit the dance floor. The littlest guests busted a few special moves -- and event attempted break dancing.
