A Chartreuse-Colored Wedding at a Vineyard in California

When Christina Kramlich took her dog to the vet, Peter Bowie, it was love at first sight. After their first meeting, Peter spotted a meteor shower on his way home. "I definitely pay attention when there are shooting stars," he said.
Letterpress invitations set the tone with a lavender and grass-green palette and delicate images of lavender, which echo the actual plants that surround the property.
The bride's bouquet draws its sweetness from lily of the valley and scented geranium leaves, nestled among clematis. A picot-edge satin bow ties the stems.
A simple clematis bloom, tied with satin ribbon, is the boutonniere for the best man, Benjamin Sellers.
Dome-shaped topiaries frame the wedding-ceremony area.

The ring pillow is held by Peter's nephew Alec Bowie. The pillow was made by cutting the border of a moss-green Ultrasuede pillow with scalloping shears; dots were added to the light-green Ultrasuede overlay with a Japanese screw punch. The rings are tied on with a green-and-white satin ribbon.
Three of her young attendants follow Christina; the smallest of them holds the train of her ivory gown (by Vera Wang). Christina's veil, of handmade Belgian lace by Irma, is embroidered with her and Peter's initials.

Frances Palmer, a potter who is also Christina's aunt, made all of the white earthenware cake platters, pitchers, and bud vases used on the tables at the reception.
Seating cards are tied to mini bouquets of fresh lavender, one for each guest. The bundles are secured with floral tape and tied with ivory, lavender, or chartreuse satin ribbon.
Fresh stems of lavender are wired to a wreath form; a card-stock sign printed with "just married" is tied onto the wreath.
A sprig of lavender doubles as a drink stirrer; for coasters, 4-inch squares were cut out of ivory, green, and lavender canvas with scalloping shears.
Instead of a floral centerpiece, a cake graces each table. Also on every table is an individual guest book; three sheets of card stock were folded, sewn at the crease, and backed with bookcloth using double-sided tape. The table number was printed on card stock and tied to the book with ribbon woven through slits at the edges.
For favors, a quote was written on Japanese rice paper, which was rolled up and tied, then placed in heart-shape dishes made by Christina's aunt. The box cover mimics the ring pillow.

Homemade sugar flowers top each centerpiece cake.
Cake No. 2
On each cake, an embossed outer layer of Valrhona white chocolate covers a coating of white-chocolate buttercream. The baker used organic ingredients to create two flavors for the cake layers inside: chocolate butter cake filled with an espresso Bavarian cream, and lemon pound cake filled with lemon sabayon.
Cake No. 3
A teak dance floor was laid down for the reception. The bride and groom have their first dance as husband and wife.
