Real Wedding: Carolyn and Barry, Westport, Connecticut
The Happy Couple
Carolyn Kelly and Barry Wallach planned a wedding in Westport, Connecticut, in less than two months. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple said "I do" during an intimate family ceremony and celebration.
Carolyn holds her groom, Barry, with one hand and a bouquet made by Martha with the other.
A dainty bouquet of sweet peas, viburnum, and roses carried by the bride's daughter, Emily Kelly, reflects the wedding color palette.
Guests "sign" notes to the newlyweds with snapshots from a pocket-sized instant camera.
For the reception, red and orange rose centerpieces enliven the dining room of the Miramar restaurant in the Inn at the National Hall; like the stems of the bouquets, the vases are wrapped with wide ribbon that is fastened with pearl-tipped pins.
Tins of mints are for the bridal party before the ceremony.
African violets are given as favors.
The cake is flavored and decorated with sugared citrus fruits, fitting for a winter wedding.

The children's table -- for Emily, Gregory, and Barry's four nieces and nephews -- is decorated with a crepe-paper lily pad and chocolate frog at each place.
