Instead of the old charcoal standby for defining eyes, consider wearing lighter-looking metallic shadows, says Pat McGrath, makeup artist and global creative director for CoverGirl. When wearing dramatic eye makeup, go easy on lip and cheek colors, and minimize any dark spots with concealer.
