A Formal Rustic Wedding on a Ranch in California

The bride and groom recited vows they had written themselves and personally served Communion on the altar for their guests. Erik's sisters struck a high note while singing "Amazing Grace."
Flower Girl and Ring Bearer
Erik's niece Gabriella and nephew Cole served as flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.
The couple's dog, Lucy, was part of their big day. The flower girl and ring bearer escorted her down the aisle during the ceremony, and she posed for photos during the portrait session.
With perfect flowers by Florabunda, the bride opted for a tailored and elegant style.
The Bridal Look
Olive Route, a letterpress studio in Berkeley, California, crafted all the paper products for the wedding. From invitations to hand-drawn maps of the reception site's grounds, each paper accessory complemented the charming wedding style to perfection.
Jennifer's middle-school principal drove the couple from the ceremony to the reception in a vintage 1934 Ford.
Durham Ranch welcomed 125 of the newlyweds' friends and family members with red sangria cocktails and Spanish-inspired tapas. Jay Alvarez, a flamenco guitarist, entertained the guests in the contemporary barn setting, complete with decorative walkways.
Cardiwyn and Sons served a delicious meal during the reception. The bride and groom danced to the oldie "For Me and My Gal." Guests danced into the evening to the Bob Hardwick Sound inside and outside of the barn under the stars.
The Wedding Cake
Though there were many fine speeches made that evening, one public declaration became a treasured surprise: The groom serenaded the bride with a version of "Love Me Tender," accompanied by his sisters -- earning a standing ovation. The gorgeous white cake from Laurie Lucov was chocolate devil's food with buttercream and meringue frosting, served with a raspberry sauce.
