Former Today Show host Kathie Lee Gifford had a lot to celebrate over the weekend: Her daughter Cassidy got engaged to Ben Wierda. We're now learning that the joyous milestone involved a bit of humor, too. As it turns out, Cassidy was midway through enjoying a quesadilla when her boyfriend popped the question.

Cassidy revealed this tidbit in a recent Instagram story showcasing a blanket meant to look like a tortilla, a gift from her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Erika Brown, and a hilarious nod to her proposal meal. "Fiancé proposes while I'm face deep in a quesadilla just so he can tell that story forever and future sister in law @missamerikabrown sends me a tortilla blanket so that I won't forget it," Cassidy captioned a photo of herself lying on a couch with the blanket, notes People.

This isn't the first time the bride-to-be has taken to social media to commemorate her engagement. News of the proposal first broke in an Instagram post from the bride-to-be's mother. In the news anchor's post, she wrote, "So thrilled to announce that my beautiful daughter, @cassidygiff is engaged to a wonderful man, Ben @letsgetwierda I am beyond the moon and stars. Thank you, LORD!"

Cassidy followed up her mom's tribute by sharing several photos of her engagement ring in a series of Instagram Story posts, which appeared to be taken while the pair made the announcement to friends. She also recently wrote a loving tribute to her new fiancé, captioning a picture of the pair with the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote, "It was always you."
