Savannah Miller Fall 2020 Wedding Dress Collection
Classic brides looking for a wedding dress with an updated twist will want to bookmark designer Savannah Miller. In fact, twists are what the creative does best. Since the majority of her creations are understated in nature, the gowns' unexpected moments, like asymmetrical draping, are often the focal point of the design—which makes for garments that are both classic and new age (and occasionally bohemian, depending on the collection!).
This season, the British-American designer—who trained under the tutelage of world-renowned designer Alexander McQueen—began with a decidedly classic vision and brought to life numbers with traditionally bridal details (think bateau necklines and clean silhouettes) as a result. The subtle modern highlights, however, were aplenty. From sheer capes (which elevated a simple sheath dress), blazer-inspired overlays (with lace trailing down the back!). The brand's signature boho-chic details also made an appearance. Romantic bell sleeves, lacey jacket overlays, and more adorned some of the collection's more whimsical numbers.
The result? A series that walks the fine line between contemporary, timeless, and bohemian—a dynamic aesthetic that few wedding-dress brands currently design towards. These creations will likely be most appealing to cool-girl brides who want to glide down the aisle in something different; these women absolutely aren't looking for the dramatic, voluminous ball gown covered in crystal. If you fall into the former category, you just might find the one in the Fall 2020 Savannah Miller bridal collection, which just made its grand debut during New York City's Bridal Fashion Week.
