Marchesa Fall 2020 Wedding Dress Collection
When it comes to wedding-day fashion, there's no fabric more ubiquitous with this special occasion than lace. And if you're a fan of this delicate, dainty material, you should put Marchesa on your list of designers to consider. The brand is known for delivering one-of-a-kind lace, lace-appliquéd, and embroidered gowns season after season. Statement touches, including floral details, silky ribbons, and fluffy tulle accents, are also frequently on order.
All that is to say that if a romantic, regal wedding dress is what you've had an eye on, we think you're going to like what you see here. Marchesa just debuted their brand-new collection of wedding dresses for Fall 2020 at New York City's bridal fashion week, and the array of styles did not disappoint. Whether you're tying the knot on the beach, in an opulent ballroom, or your own backyard, as long as you're looking for something ethereal, dramatic, and jaw-droppingly beautiful, Marchesa makes a wedding dress for you.
"The Fall 2020 Marchesa Bridal collection is inspired by the art form of the Japanese flower arrangement, 'ikebana,'" the brand said in their collection statement. "Within the traditions of ikebana, the essence of each flower and leaf is emphasized using subtle curves and dramatic lines. The balance of all elements within the design determines the characteristic beauty of each arrangement. Every detail is essential to the grand design. While shaping each special gown, the Fall 2020 collection channeled these ancient practices. Gently contoured tulle silhouettes are framed by branched arches and elaborate floral embellishments, while sculptural gowns draped in duchess satin and embroidered taffeta are balanced with floral corsages and contrasting sheer corsets. Each gown exudes a refined elegance composed to display the natural grace and beauty of the Marchesa bride."
The styles that had us doing double-takes? First, a ball gown with a plunging v-neckline and a thigh-high slit. We can already imagine a bride walking down the aisle at an opulent ballroom wearing this gorgeous number. We were equally as taken with an ethereal A-line number that featured sheer sleeves, bow accents, and all-over floral appliqués. But that's certainly not all there was to see: Marchesa debuted 16 new wedding dresses this season, and, as you'll see ahead, there was a lot to love about each and every one of them.
