As soon as news broke that yet another royal wedding is in the works, one key question came into play: What does Princess Beatrice's engagement ring look like? A series of pictures posted to the royal's Instagram account gave fans a peek at the platinum and diamond ring Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi presented to Princess Beatrice. The detail that you probably missed at first glance? The bauble actually has a unique tie to another recent royal bride—Meghan Markle.

British jeweler Shaun Leane, a favorite of Markle's, is the mastermind behind Princess Beatrice's ring, one that E News! estimates costs around $100,000. The Duchess of Sussex regularly wears designs from Shaun Leane, so it's no wonder that Mozzi approached the jeweler to create an engagement ring for yet another member of the monarchy. Notably, Markle was just spotted wearing Leane's gold diamond tusk bangle at the launch of her SmartWorks collection, People reports.

Not only did Mozzi enlist a jeweler with a royal stamp of approval to craft Princess Beatrice's engagement ring, the design is extra special because it seamlessly melds both his and his fiancée's styles. "Edo was very prepared and he had done his research. He had a very strong feeling about what he wanted," Leane told People about collaborating with the groom-to-be. "He knew that he wanted a round stone, and he knew he wanted platinum. We talked about aesthetic and he said, 'I really love Art Deco, and Beatrice really likes a Victorian aesthetic in jewelry.' We talked about fusing the two together and he thought it would be lovely to do that, to fuse their two personalities together within the ring. There was a real unity."

The end result was a collaborative effort between the two—and a sizable one, at that. "The main diamond is 2.5 karats. The baguette diamonds on the side are .75 karats," Leane noted, before adding another detail that brings Markle top of mind. "They are from Botswana and ethically sourced." (Prince Harry sourced his wife's own diamond from the same country.)
