Depending on your climate, a heavier material like satin might keep you warm enough to make it through the ceremony, but it's important to have a back-up plan in the event that you're still chilly.

Whether you're the bride, a bridesmaid, or a guest, a pashmina is always a good option. They're easy to carry in a purse, they're warm, and you can choose a style that coordinates with your attire, Sabatino says. The pro also adds that they're affordable: You can find a good quality pashmina in a variety of different price points in stores and online.
