Watch Soccer Stars Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger Answer the Sweetest Questions About Their Relationship
This is the cutest thing you’ll see all day.
Fiancées and teammates Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris are one of soccer's most popular couples—and they just gave fans a reason to fall in love with them all over again. On Her Turf, a multi-platform sports empowerment venture between NBCSports and Refinery 29, invited the World Cup champions to play the "newlywed game"—which involved asking each other questions about each other and their relationship—in a video recently shared to Instagram. Naturally, the results were priceless.
The game started out playfully: They were asked who is more competitive. Their answers? Me. Ali and Ashlyn both think they're the most prone to competition (they then recounted a friendly game of ping-pong that turned serious earlier in their relationship). They were then prompted to share more about their relationship and what first brought them together. "I really liked her vibe and just the kind of person she was," Ali recounted of first meeting Ashlyn on the bus to soccer camp.
Ever the supportive duo, the stars use the video to shower each other with a bit of heartfelt love. When asked about working together? Ali responds that she is grateful for her fiancées consistent support, while Ashlyn explained that she loves spending all her time with Ali—on and off the field.
Ali and Ashlyn met in 2010; they were linked as a couple in 2015 and became engaged in late 2018. However, it wasn't until an interview with People in March 2019 that the twosome confirmed their engagement. "We became really close friends, and we just hung out, we clicked, and we had so much in common," Ashlyn told the outlet. "We always sat next to each other on the bus and on flights, and we kind of just talked about our dreams and our hopes and what we wanted to do one day when we grew up. Because at the time, we were kids. The rest has kind of been history," she continues. "Here we are nine years later, and we're going to be getting married this year."
