When you design wedding dresses for a living, it should come as no surprise that your own big day is invariably all about the gown. This was true for Cydney Morris, the creative behind the bridal label Stone Cold Fox—her Brock Collection x Stone Cold Fox number was the center of her bridal look, she tells Martha Stewart Weddings. "It was a hard process for me because I felt a lot of pressure to make an amazing, unique dress," she explains. Once the hard part—creating a gown that was "timeless, sexy, and funky" and felt like "the perfect expression of me"—was over, the rest of her beauty look, which involved '60s bombshell-inspired hair and makeup, fell into place.

Her best beauty-related advice for brides-to-be? Nix coffee and alcohol once you hit the three-months-out mark—and up your workouts. "My teeth, whites of my eyes, and skin really benefited from the change," she reveals. "It was hard, but I felt amazing." Ahead, Morris, who recently tied the knot in her native Australia, shares her pre-wedding and day-of beauty routine.

A beauty look that let the dress do the talking.

"I knew my dress and veil (an antique lace accessory from the 1800s) were so special that I didn’t need to go overboard with hair or makeup," explains Morris. "I didn’t want to look overdone—and I think the combination of my hair and makeup choices were the perfect finishing touch."

The final look? Something subtly '60s-inspired, from a straight, voluminous blowout with curled-in edges courtesy of Lindsey Neavitt to winged eyeliner, glowing, blushing skin, and Bardot-ready lips. "I was going for a little Brigitte Bardot and a little Claudia Schiffer. I wanted to have this timeless it-girl look. My dress was all lace and so was my veil, so I wanted my hair and makeup to be classic and let those pieces shine."

A pre-wedding vitamin regimen.

In an effort to grow out her hair as much as possible in the months before the wedding, Morris took all of the vitamins, she says. "I have pretty baby fine hair and it grows like a snail," she explains, which is ultimately why she opted for extensions on the big day; her thick, full vision required a lot of hair, after all.

A medical-grade skincare boost.

"I'm really into preserving my skin, especially as I venture into my 30s," says Morris. In the months before her wedding, stuck to the ingredients (hyaluronic acid and lots of oils!) she knows works—but added on one workhorse procedure: "The only thing I changed was introducing PRP-Microneedling sessions, which I got at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group, once a month leading up to the big day. It really helped to tighten my skin and add a beautiful natural glow."

A nostalgic fragrance.

Though Morris typically wears Le Labo's classic Santal fragrance every day, she switched it up for something more sentimental come her wedding: "On the big day I wore Joe Malone's Vintage Gardenia because it reminds me of my grandma."
