Create your own rosy red-carpet moment for your ceremony backdrop. Work with a preexisting doorway or a similar freestanding structure. For a grand effect that's also budget-friendly (Kim and Kanye reportedly spent $130,000 on their flower wall), try this easy ceremony backdrop. Simply string crisp white Easter lilies on fishing line and hang them from dowels in staggered rows to put together an arrangement that brings to mind living wedding bells. Verdant grape ivy vines add a touch of wildness that transforms even the starkest venue into a dreamy retreat.

For a bloomin' awesome—and fragrant—backdrop for your ceremony, cake table, or photo booth, secure hybrid tea roses, a cross-breed of tea and hybrid perpetualis varieties, with tiny t-pins from the crafts store. Position them in such a way to cleverly cover the water tube of the next. Best of all, you only need 75 roses (less than $100 worth) to fill up an 8-by-8-foot surface.

Assemble your own multicolored flower wall by taping vertical rows of long-stemmed varieties to a wall. Use blooms less prone to wilting, like peonies, carnations, orchids, and lilies. You can either let the strips of tape show—or hide them under petals and leaves. We recommend using Shurtape masking tape for best results.

Here, we made a verdant wall using lush houseplants, including ferns, begonia, variegated croten, and dieffenbachia. Pot your design in recycled-plastic planters, or Woolly Pockets, then hang them on a surface with small screws for a beautiful ceremony or photo booth backdrop. The best part is you get to keep all the plants after your wedding!
