Wreath Seat Holder

Mark the rows reserved for family with wreaths made from vivid autumn leaves. Gather and press a bundle of leaves -- look for leaves in at least two shapes -- or purchase them at a floral-supply or crafts store; you'll need about 30 leaves for each wreath. Here, red and yellow maple leaves are interspersed with slim birch. Mount leaves on 1 1/2-inch-wide rings cut from sturdy cardboard (the rings' diameter is 7 1/2 inches). Using a glue stick, affix the leaves to the board in an overlapping pattern. When you have covered half the form, turn so the leaf-covered half of ring is the bottom. Cut an 11-inch-long strip of paper out of green art paper and trim ends into an inverted V; have the word "Reserved" calligraphed onto it, lay it across the ring, and glue in place. Finish gluing on leaves to cover wreath completely. Hot-glue a loop of satin ribbon to the back of the wreath at the top, and hang from chair backs.
