A lot can be held together with two ribbons tied into bows. This program's cover is adorned by a single calligraphed initial. The ribbons, threaded through punched holes and tied at the corners, hold the booklet closed and give it a pretty, finished look.

1. Design and print your pages and your cover; this monogrammed cover was calligraphed, but you can also print yours from a computer, or adorn plain sheets of cover stock with a rubber-stamped initial. We made our booklet cover with 9-by-5 1/2-inch paper; the inside pages were 8-by-5 1/2-inch, leaving 1/2-inch clearance at each end for the punched holes.

2. Fold all the pages to find the center, then unfold; using a mini hole punch, make holes 1/2 inch from both sides of the fold and 1/2 inch away from the top and bottom. Also punch a hole at each corner of the cover.

3. Stack the pages, aligning holes. Cut two lengths of ribbon (we used two 2 1/2-inch pieces); thread one through the top holes starting at the inside left and passing through the inside pages to secure them to the cover. Repeat at the bottom. Close the booklet, and tie the ribbons into bows.
