Just one day after reports surfaced that Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith were engaged, the This Is Us star's television family has confirmed the happy news. Chris Sullivan and Jon Huertas told Entertainment Tonight how Moore shared the exciting announcement with the rest of the cast—and it involved the Pearson family group chat!
"She just sent out an alert over our family text chain, so I can't wait to hear about it," Sullivan said at a soundtrack release party at Clutch, Huertas' restaurant in Venice, California. "She just sent a photo and just wanted us all to know that this just happened, and so then we went on a response spree for about a day and a half."
Sullivan also said that Goldsmith, his close friend and Moore's boyfriend of two years, was secretive about his intentions to propose. He did note that the Dawes musician seemed a little more upbeat when he saw him last, though. "I was just in the studio with her boyfriend, well now fiancé, Taylor. He didn't say a word! He seemed a little effervescent, but he's always pretty effervescent... I know him very well," Sullivan said. "He's quickly becoming one of my favorite people, and he and Mandy are an incredible couple."
According to Sullivan, Moore also sent along a photo of her engagement ring, but her costars (like the rest of us!) have yet to hear the full proposal story. Marc Malkin, who broke the news yesterday, revealed that Moore and Goldsmith got engaged in their home. Huertas, who plays Moore's on-screen husband Miguel, offered his congratulations, and seemed thrilled to welcome Goldsmith into the extended This Is Us family. "I think it's amazing," he said on the news. "Good for her. I'm happy for her. Taylor is an amazing guy. I love him so much. I love Mandy so much. I'm really happy that they're going to be joining the club!"
