Just six years ago Kate Middleton wore an Alexander McQueen dress by Sarah Burton for her own wedding day–and now the Duchess of Cambridge has donned another look by the British label for her sister Pippa Middleton's big day. Coincidence? We think not.

While Kate is known for her elegant taste and sophisticated style, this look went above and beyond. There's no doubt it was a perfect choice for Pippa and James Matthews' nuptials, and what looks to be the wedding of the year. The custom look featured design elements Kate is known to adore, like soft peplum, and flattering pleats. Meanwhile, the shoulder treatments and cuffs added a modern twist on classic Elizabethan fashion–a dream pairing for the traditional English addition of a gorgeous hat to complete the ensemble!

But Kate wasn't the only royal to don an eye-catching look for the celebration. Prince William and Prince Harry were spotted in suits featuring pin-striped pants, complementary double-breasted vests and matching jackets. It even looks like William's tie was selected to match Kate's dress for the event. Does that mean we can assume Prince Harry's girlfriend Meghan Markle may still arrive at the reception in a dress coordinated with Harry's blue tie? Either way, the similarity of the two royals' vests to the looks worn by the brothers of the bride and groom suggest their decisions are either the latest in fashion–or they're part of the groom's party.

It's certainly true Pippa's Giles Deacon wedding dress will provide fashion inspiration for countless weddings to come, but there's no doubt her friends and family are up to the fashion challenge!
