It's official: Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are the most adorable couple in Hollywood. After 29 years of marriage, a milestone the couple celebrated yesterday, these two are still as in love with each other as they were when they first met. Case in point? The sweet way they celebrated their big anniversary—that is, at least what we think must have been a very adorable date.
While on the red carpet premier of Hanks' new movie, The Circle, this week, the couple discussed their upcoming anniversary plans with E! News. "I'm not going to say," Wilson joked when asked what the two had planned. Hanks was only a little more telling. "We have top secret plans that are going to set the world on fire," he added.
Although we don't know what these two had in store on their wedding anniversary, Wilson gave us a look into their special day with an Instagram post in honor of the occasion. "29 years of marriage! Thank you, God, for bringing me this man," she wrote. And we also know that these two are still totally crazy about each other. Just before their 28th anniversary last year, Hanks told 60 Minutes that he had been nervous to start a relationship with Wilson. "I told her long ago, 'If you and I were at the same high school I wouldn't have had the courage to speak to you,'" Hanks said at the time. "Too vivacious, too beautiful, too popular—everything—too upbeat, too positive." Adorable!
The couple married in 1988, just three years after they began dating, but Hanks recently admitted he had his eye on Wilson since the first moment he saw her. That moment? When the actress guest-starred as a cheerleader on The Brady Bunch. "I was actually at a friend of mine's house when it aired and I remember thinking, 'That girl's cute,'" Hanks told People last year.
Congrats on another year of happy marriage to this twosome!
