Although her story has been a little different than the usual fairy tales, it looks like Meghan Markle is well on her way to becoming a princess. She and Prince Harry, whose latest adventure included a Friends-inspired date night at London's Natural History Museum, appear to be primed and ready to go the distance—literally.
"Despite the distance, the media attention and everything else, there's a real ease to their relationship," a source told People. "It just works. They are deeply happy." Maybe that comfort level has something to do with the fact that Markle is more than ready to take on the responsibilities—and spotlight—that come with possible princess-hood. Although Prince Harry's former girlfriends have said that the pressure and attention that came along with dating one of the world's most eligible bachelors can be nothing short of crazy and uncomfortable, Markle has taken to the role gracefully. E! News notes that the actress has even begun to use her new level of exposure as a platform to share inspirational messages. Maybe that Hollywood background has been the perfect training ground for coping with royal responsibilities!
Lindsay Roth, Markle's best friend, says it's easy to see why Harry is drawn to her friend and former maid-of-honor. "We should all strive to handle the ups and downs of our lives as gracefully, smartly, elegantly, positively, realistically and graciously as Meg has," Roth told People. "I may be biased, but she deserves everything in the world."
No argument there! And with all the rumors and predictions of a summer engagement flying around, we can't wait to see what's next for the couple!
