Master of all things romance, femininity, and style, Monique Lhuillier is a revered name in the wedding world for a reason. With a pulse on what brides want, she's whipped together covetable bridal collection after bridal collection. So it's only natural (and about time!) that her bridal empire extends beyond fashion and into the beauty sector with a gel couture bridal nail polish collection for Essie. After all, your nails are the focus of everyone's attention from the moment you say "yes!" until "I do!"
Naturally, Lhuillier's limited-edition wedding-day shades were inspired by her previous collections. "I wanted to bring more modern colors to the Essie gel couture bridal collection including details like the soft sage green that matches the bouquets my models carried down the runway, or the soft white, found in the intricate lace incorporated into many of my gowns," Lhuillier said. "Each of the shades were inspired by the exquisite details of my bridal collection. I wanted to invoke the same elegance and femininity found in my collection of romantic, whimsical gowns in this color palette."
The Ultimate Guide to Every Type of Nail Polish
For Essie, the partnership was a no brainer. "Monique Lhuillier's aesthetic works seamlessly with Essie gel couture because of her sophisticated luxury and attention to detail," Essie Worldwide General Manager Carolyn Holba said. "Monique is a sought-after and globally recognized bridal designer and we loved the idea of collaborating to bring our beautiful Essie gel couture colors to brides everywhere."
Essie's gel couture offers a "twist" on Essie classics, Holba explained. It involves a two-step system, which includes a high shine top coat for longer wear. This way, brides can pick their favorite shades and wear them for up to 14 days, without needing a lamp or requiring the pesky removal of a full gel manicure.
While Lhuillier has her sights set on a gorgeous offering of polishes for now, fragrance could be in her future. "I would love to offer a sensory experience to my brides that enables them to recall their most meaningful romantic experiences," the designer said.
The limited-edition range features six shades: "lace to the altar," "dress is more," "blush-worthy," "sage you love me," "to have and to gold," and "berry in love." Each polish will be available April 2017 for a limited time on essie.com, nail salons, and beauty destinations worldwide. We can't wait to go get our nails done!
