What's more celebratory than a cold, bubbling flute of Champagne? Not much. Champagne and weddings are practically synonymous, but too many couples save the good stuff for after the wedding. After all, when you've invited anywhere from 100 to 200 guests to your ceremony and reception, pouring flutes of expensive sparkling wine and Champagne just isn't cost effective. But, due to the coronavirus pandemic, couples are celebrating with significantly reduced guest lists, which means that delicious, high-quality bubbly is an option. And if you are still planning for a larger celebration in the future, pop these bottles with your bridesmaids while getting ready. "Champagne is the perfect thing to drink while getting ready. It's like a legal party drug in a bottle," says Ariel Arce, owner of New York City's Air's Champagne Parlor. "Why not get all bubbly before the big day begins?"
While sparkling options are delicious on their own, Arce also suggests considering a pre-ceremony Champagne cocktail. She loves to add a fruit or herb-based simple syrup to bubbly, then tops her flute or coupe with a splash of fresh lemon or grapefruit juice. It's a refreshing sip you and your 'maids will love. Prefer to drink your Champagne on its own? Arce says it's important you start with an extra brut. "They have low sugar, so you can imbibe longer without fear of getting a headache," she explains.
Not sure which bottle to pop on the morning of your wedding or during your micro-wedding's reception? You're in luck. We found a wide selection of bubbly that deserves an invitation to your big day. With everything from sparkling rosé and brut options to prosecco, blanc de blanc, and blanc de noirs, there's something here for everyone. Even better, the bottles chosen all represent a wide array of price points, so whether you want to go for something splurge-worthy or still want to adhere to a tighter budget, these bottles will fit the bill.
