New York Sour


Here's a whiskey-based cocktail fit for East Coast brides and grooms, by Tom Macy of Clover Club bar in Brooklyn, New York.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz rye whiskey

  • 3/4 oz lemon juice

  • 3/4 oz simple syrup

  • 1/4 oz orange juice (optional)
  • Red wine

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker and fill with ice. Shake and strain into coupe or martini glass. Float about 1/2 ounce red wine over the top using a barspoon.
