There's a lot that goes into planning the wedding procession. You have to factor in timing, who will pair off with who, and, of course, how to best make your grand entrance. Another processional detail that absolutely can't be overlooked? The music. To help you decide on the tune (or tunes!) that will play as your parents, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers, and-finally!-you down the aisle, we asked Apple Music to weigh in. Here, their editors share everything there is to know about curating a series of wedding entrance songs that sum up the moment. For more inspiration, be sure to check our curated playlist below.

First determine how long your processional will be.

This determines the number of songs you'll need to account for. "Processionals can vary in length based on several factors, so the music should match the timing," explain the pros at Apple. "For smaller weddings, one or two songs could cover a processional." For longer line-ups, you might want to consider live accompaniment-a quartet or singer can tailor the music by simply watching the processional to provide the perfect fit.

Giving wedding party members their own songs is a sweet touch.

While personalizing song choices for each individual attendant is unlikely, switching it up when possible is always appreciated. Consider flipping the music for each wedding party section: for your parents, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and the flower girl and ring bearer. Above all, your walk should be given its own track. "The song chosen for the bride should distinguish itself somehow-in terms of gravity, personality, or overarching meaning and feel," the editors say.

It's okay to keep it classic.

"Many couples likely envision all types of creative scenarios for processional music but most retreat into some degree of familiarity when it really boils down to the big day," the pros explain. "For most weddings, it's always nice to build slowly and have the perfect song at the ready for the bride."

Don't put choosing processional music off.

It's important to give this particular song selection some degree of forethought, the editors add. "Otherwise, it can become yet another unnecessary source of stress which nobody needs to add to the load of wedding planning. Have fun but plan ahead!"
