A Whale of a Good Time
With a large chunk of their guest list and their two sons, Vanessa Kreckel and Lauren Martin went on an adventure on Casco Bay, off the coast of Portland, Maine, before tying the knot the following day.
Great Sights
During the trip, a total of 12 Minke whales were spotted.
Lunch Is Served
Vanessa put her design skills to work, crafting the labels adhered to the gable box lunches. Inside each was a sandwich, a bag of chips, pasta salad, and a cookie, all from Aurora Provisions deli in Portland.
A Special Touch
Lunch was served with a custom foil-stamped napkin made by Vanessa (who helms Two Paperdolls design firm). An aquatic quote by Jacques Cousteau was a fitting choice.
All Together Now
"It was a super fun relaxing way to kick off the weekend," Vanessa says. "It was a really great way for our guests to meet each other and interact by being stuck at sea for four hours! We drank Bloody Marys and had an amazing time."
One Lucky Family
"We took the family on a whale watch in Provincetown on vacation in the summer of 2013," Vanessa recalls of a previous excursion. "We all got passes for the 1 percent club to come back for a free trip since we saw no whales!" Thankfully, they had better luck this time around.
