The Norfolk Botanical Garden
The Norfolk Botanical Garden is incredibly beautiful and open all year long-but the best season for popping the question here is definitely springtime, when the flowers are starting to bloom. The hardest part involved in planning your proposal? Choosing your backdrop. Would you like to propose at the Japanese Garden, the Rose Garden, or how about at the top of the lookout? Nearly any spot would be ideal, and there is even a riverboat tour that takes you around the gardens. You could have your friends and family buy tickets and surprise her with the company of her loved ones.
Historical Virginia
Jamestown, Williamsburg, and the Triangle of Yorktown are full of historic buildings with breathtaking views. Take a stroll down the street during the twilight hours or on a sunny day and drop down on one knee in front of a monument, courtyard, or famous building. Or consider the hedge maze near Governor's Palace in Williamsburg. What better thing to find at the center of a maze than a ring?
Take a Sunset Cruise
Virginia is home to some scenic coastlines. You can arrange for a romantic getaway to the seaside, or take her on a sunset cruise. There are lots of options, but the Spirit of Norfolk is a cruise ship that will take you up and down Norfolk harbor with a lovely dinner, dancing, and full bar. You can wine and dine her, then take her up to the observation deck where you can glimpse stunning views of the cityline. The cruiseline hosts a variety of events from showers to weddings, so if you're not the best at planning, the staff would be there to assist you in making it a perfect night.
