Meet the expert: Josh Peskowitz, Bloomingdale's Men's Fashion Director

His advice for the groom: "The most important thing to remember on the big day is that it's not about you; it's about your bride. Know and listen to what she likes to see you in, but understand that all eyes will be on her."

His top styling tip: "Your suit should be classic, and impeccably tailored. Make sure the pants are properly hemmed, the jacket is appropriately tailored, and the sleeves are the right length—and a bow tie is the way to go!"

Meet the expert: Dan Rookwood, Mr Porter's U.S. Editor

His advice for the groom: "What you're after is an outfit that will not date horribly in the wedding photos on your mantelpiece. Stick to traditional tailoring, a white shirt, and polishable shoes with a rounded toe. Avoid anything overtly trendy, such as skinny ties or outlandish colors. And consider how your hairstyle or facial hair might look to your future grandchildren. There's a lot to be said for the timelessness of a clean shave and a neatly groomed short back and sides."

His top styling tip: "Whatever shirt you choose, consider buying two exactly the same so you have a fresh change for the reception. Launder them beforehand so they are comfortable to wear on the day rather than starched straight out of the packaging."

Dan's Destination Wedding Choice

"If you're getting married somewhere hot, you'll want a suit lighter in cloth and color so that you don't perspire. But be wary of 100 percent linen, which will 100 percent crease and wrinkle. This suit is a linen-blend, which is more reliable marriage material."

Meet the expert: Jonathan Evans, East Dane's Fashion Director

His advice for the groom: "Don't go for gimmicks: Choose something simple and refined. And always avoid those shiny satin vests that match the bridesmaids' dresses!"

His top styling tip: "Make sure it fits, and then get it tailored. The last thing you want is to look back at your wedding photos and realize that you look like a kid in his dad's suit."

Meet the expert: Jorge Valls, Nordstrom's Men's Fashion Director

His advice for the groom: "You have to be comfortable in what you wear at your wedding, so don't rush picking the right suit. Spend some time looking at different options and make sure it's something you want to be remembered in. Your wedding pictures will represent you for the rest of your life."

His top styling tip: "With suiting, it's all about fit. Find a great tailor and make him your best friend. A great suit poorly tailored won't do you justice."
