2 double-headed stamen filaments cut in half to make 4 stamens
9” (23 cm) length 18-gauge pretaped wire
Green and yellow floral tape
6” x 2” (15 x 5 cm) strip light yellow tissue paper (unless otherwise specified in project)

  1. Tape 3 stamens to the prepared wire so they extend ½” (12 mm) above the top of the wire. Continue to wrap with tape until the filament stems are completely covered, about 1” to 2” (2.5 to 5 cm). Fold the tissue strip in half lengthwise and cut a 1/3” (88 mm) fringe on the folded edge. Place the unfringed edge of the tissue around the stamen so the filaments extend ½” (6 mm) above the tissue fringe.
  2. Wrap the tissue around and down the stem to create a 2” (5 cm) spiraled fringe. Press the tissue to the floral tape underneath. Using yellow floral tape, secure the fringed tissue to the center stem wire. Continue to wrap the stem with floral tape until you reach 3” (7.5 cm) below the fringe.
