Heather and Tibaut
Everything is bigger in Texas, including the love stories. And for Lone Star State natives Heather Winn and Tibaut Bowman, the tale was written in the stars. A few years after meeting at a rooftop party in Brooklyn, New York, where they both now live, Tibaut proposed on a vacation in the West Indies. On April 13, 2013, they returned to their home state and tied the knot in front of 400 family members and friends.
Starry Save-the-Dates
Save-the-dates featured constellations of the duo's zodiac signs, Sagittarius and Gemini.
Bridal Style
Heather wore a beaded, kimono-style top from a Paris thrift store over a dress of her own design. Her romantic bouquet from The Nouveau Romantics included lavender, lilacs, sweet peas, clematis, and ranunculus.
The Groom's Extra Touch
Tibaut's mother embroidered monogrammed pocket squares for him and his groomsmen.
The Bridal Party
The 16 'maids chose dresses in black, navy, or pink and carried lilacs, sweet peas, and ranunculus.
Amazing Archway
The pair said "I do" under a handmade arch of more than 1,500 blooming cherry and pear branches.
Cocktail-Hour Tunes
The Americana Ensemble, a local bluegrass group, made the outdoor cocktail hour lively.
Personalized Sips
The couple offered multiple custom drink options for guests.
A Rustic Welcome
Hand-stamped escort cards were pinned to a wooden fence with brass tacks.
The Lounge
Antique sofas, chairs, trunks, and whiskey barrels from Loot Vintage Rentals, in Austin, created intimate gathering spots for guests.
Hot Wheels
One of the bride's family friends pulled up to the party in a vintage Chevrolet.
The Dining Room
Open-weave runners, white candles, and wildflowers in terra cotta pots dressed up farm tables.
Cakes Aplenty
In addition to the groom's cake, the couple served three fondant-covered cakes from Coco Paloma Desserts.
Overnight Accomodations
The wedding party and their dates slept in furnished canvas tents from the California-based company Shelter-Co. "We wanted it to feel like a music festival," says Heather.
