Maggie and Brandon
Maggie and Brandon met in college, but it wasn't until years later that they formed a close connection and a romance blossomed. Brandon, a producer for TV show Eastbound & Down, was finishing up filming in Ireland while Maggie was on a business trip in Austria. Maggie recalls, "He had some time off so we ended up traveling together throughout Austria, Italy, and France… and never looked back!" Three years later, on October 20, 2012, the couple tied the knot.
Campy Save-the-Dates
Landis Stationery designed the laid-back, playful save-the-date. The camp motif, highlighted by colorful typography and illustrations, was a fitting introduction to their wedding weekend.
Gilded Invite
The invitation was speckled with light and airy gold foil, evoking the ethereal warmth of a summer afternoon.
A Texas Treasure
Camp Waldemar, situated in Hill Country, Texas, is laced with cool rivers, lush trees, and rolling hills. The couple chose the location because they wanted "all our friends and family in one place surrounded by the best that nature has to offer."
A Box of Welcome Treats
Each guest received a welcome box stamped with the couple's initials and filled with camp-themed goodies: candy bars, chocolate chip cookies, beef jerky, granola, sunscreen, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, and ibuprofen.
Something Borrowed, Something New
Maggie donned a peach Vera Wang gown and a headpiece crafted out of the same types of flowers used in her bouquet. In keeping with the "something borrowed" tradition, she wore her mother's bracelet and earrings.
Brandon kept it classic in a black Ralph Lauren suit.
Handcrafted Shoes
Hand-beaded Indian wedding slippers added a pop of color to Maggie's neutral dress.
Classic Black
The couple was flanked by a six-member wedding party. The groomsmen wore black suits and the bridesmaids sported J.Crew dresses.
All-White Flowers
Maggie's bouquet was created by Bella Flora using ivory garden roses, baby ivory majolicas, astilbe, white snowberries, Queen Anne's lace, and seeded eucalyptus.
Succulent Boutonnieres
The groomsmen were pinned with small succulents while Brandon matched Maggie's bouquet with mini majolica rose buds backed by seeded eucalyptus.
The Pashmina Table
A pashmina station was set up to keep guests warm during the six o'clock ceremony. The neutral shades of ivory and peach were classically feminine, and served as a décor accent in itself.
Aisle Oasis
In a breathtaking procession, Maggie and her father descended down a candlelit aisle surrounded by 200 family and friends. Glass lanterns were adorned with moss, succulents, and seeded eucalyptus creating a refreshing oasis.
Waterfront Ceremony
Maggie and Brandon tied the knot at a waterfront ceremony at the camp's Tejas Chapel, encompassed by a large-scale wreath that mirrored the smaller ones lining the aisle. After they exchanged 'I Do's', The Beatles' "All You Need Is Love" ramped up the energy for the evening.
Portraits by the River
Photographer Taylor Lord captured the just-married duo by the Guadalupe River and in a few other spots on the sprawling grounds.
A String Quartet
A string quartet played classical ballads throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, the couple's first dance, and dinner.
Eco Escort Cards
The architecture of Camp Waldemar is characterized by its historic masonry and preserved wooden beams. Playing off this rustic architectural aesthetic, Maggie sourced reclaimed tree branches to use for her escort card display.
Texan Reception
Guests were seated at long tables anchored with arrangements of ivory roses, majolica, and succulents, and they dined on authentic Texan cuisine that included: beef tenderloin with jalapeño béarnaise sauce, grilled quail blackberry chutney, jalapeño cheese grits, and mixed green with citrus wedges.
Natural Elements
Garlands of ivory roses and majolica were coiled around bell jars, illuminated by the glow of white candles. Table numbers were inscribed onto birch wood slices and thin branches were used to prop up the wooden signage.
Dancing to The King
Maggie and Brandon chose Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" for their first dance as newlyweds.
A Buttercream Beauty
A four-tiered white buttercream wedding cake with sweet raspberry filling was garnished with fresh flowers for a classically feminine look.
