Christie and Greg
While out with mutual friends in Los Gatos, California, Christie Nolet and Greg Henderson met and struck up a conversation. One year later, at the same bar, with the same friends, they decided to take their friendship to the next level, and after two years of dating, on July 21, 2012, they tied the knot in front of 200 loved ones.
The Fashions
Greg sported an Express vest, a tie from Nordstrom, and white Jack Purcell sneakers. His bride paired her Jim Hjelm gown with a Haute Bride headpiece and custom necklace, and Sperry Topsider wedges.
The Bouquet
Christie's bunch was put together by Shotgun Floral Studio and bound together with sparkly ribbon. The wild arrangement included peach and yellow garden roses, dahlias, scabiosa, and king protea.
The Boutonnieres
Small clusters of gomphrena and spray roses adorned the menswear.
The Ceremony Decor
To create their festive backdrop, tissue festooning, lace ribbons, metallic strips, and paper streamers were hung by Enjoy Events Co. from the balcony of Easley Family Farms' main house. An eclectic grouping of chairs from Yeah! Rentals flanked the center aisle, which was covered with vintage rugs.
The Programs
Ceremony proceedings were outlined on fans, which also kept attendees cool during the summer afternoon. A thank-you note to all of their guests was written on the backs.
The Bridesmaids
The bride's five attendants wore white Bill Levkoff dresses from Trudy's Brides and Anthropologie earrings.
The Ceremony
After walking down the aisle with her father to "I Can't Wait" by Runner Runner, Greg's uncle led them through their hand-written vows. They then placed these promises in a locked box to be opened and reread on every anniversary.
The Seating
A large chart helped guests easily find their table assignments.
The Menu
Sage Catering prepared a family-style dinner that began with a field-greens salad with watermelon radish, chevre, and shaved fennel. Entrees included Italian couscous, tomato caprese, grilled hanger steak, and grilled salmon.
The Cocktails
Drink offerings were listed and displayed in a wooden frame that had been dipped in white paint.
Handmade Touches
The frames holding the table numbers received a simple paint treatment.
Sweet Swags
Bright fringe and garlands were draped along the outside of the tables to add colorful flair.
The Table Settings
Menu cards, slipped into folded napkins made from mix-and-match fabrics, were topped with peaches picked at a local farm.
First Dance
"When I Said I Do" by Clint Black had been Christie's dream wedding song ever since junior high. It played as the newlyweds hit the dance floor.
The Onlookers
Greg's second cousins watched the bride and groom share the special moment.
The Cake
SusieCakes piped the vanilla confetti cake's lemon buttercream in a pink ombre swirl pattern. It was served with homemade ice cream sandwiches in two varieties: ginger cookie with vanilla, and chocolate cookie with espresso filling.
The Favors
The refreshing summer fruit that garnished each plate also served as favors. Buckets of them were set out next to a sign that read, "You're a peach, take one home!"
