Crystal and Colin

For Crystal and Colin -- Vancouver-based animators and certified kids at heart -- a fairy-tale wedding at Walt Disney World was a dream come true. The groom’s family had been visiting The Magic Kingdom for decades, and during the couple’s two years together, they had made the trip four times themselves. They knew no other place could better represent their love and playful spirit. On May 10, 2012, they journeyed there once more -- this time to write their own storybook romance.
The groom designed the stationery. Invitations were printed on an old press and dressed up with three-dimensional balloons meticulously cut from yellow paper and glued on.
For their big day, Colin chose an ensemble by Le Chateau and a Sean John tie. Crystal sported an Alfred Sung dress, Alice Hart "rose cage" veil, Caroline Calvert earrings, and Aldo pumps. Before the ceremony, the groom gave his bride a customized Disney charm bracelet he’d made that morning. She sported it all day long.
Crystal's closest friends served as bridesmaids, and wore Jenny Yoo "Quinn" dresses with Charlotte Russe heels. Their ranunculus, spray rose, craspedia, and white freesia bouquets mimicked the bride’s, which also included button mums, freesia, hydrangea, and lysimachia.
The couple's brothers served as groomsmen and wore Le Chateau slacks and shirts, H&M ties, and American Apparel suspenders.
Shipra Panosian photographed the couple on the boardwalk just before sunset.
Everyone dined under onionskin lanterns in Disney's Sea Breeze Point on the Boardwalk.
Tables were dotted with steel buckets displaying arrangements of roses, hydrangeas, craspedia, delphinium, salidago, and freesia. The team from Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings surprised the couple with a sweet touch: chalkboard signs with "happily," "ever," and "after" written on them.
Following canapes -- smoked duck with crispy vegetables wrapped in rice paper, and Brie-and-strawberry crostini drizzled with balsamic honey syrup -- guests dined on three-peppercorn and whole-grain-mustard-rubbed beef strip loin. It was complemented with a caramelized red onion compote. Two more options: Gorgonzola, citrus-rosemary grilled turkey breast with cranberry jus, and truffle mac 'n' cheese. Friends and family also helped themselves to a potato bar buffet and a seafood station of shrimp, mussels, and island-spiced scallops before indulging their sweet tooth on fondue, candy apples, and ice cream bars.
Polaroids were artfully placed in a scrapbook which will be kept as a beautiful memento from the day.
