Lisa and Alex

Lisa Gant and Alex Pelling are so in love that they can't stop tying the knot. Hailing from the UK, the duo behind the blog 2 People 1 Life is on a mission to celebrate their bond and support a good cause -- their registry benefits UNICEF -- by getting hitched in every country they visit.
We were so inspired by their story that for their 26th (yes, you read that correctly) ceremony, we invited them to the Martha Stewart Weddings headquarters for a true NYC-inspired celebration.
The ceremony took place in the midst of the annual Martha Stewart Weddings Bridal Fashion Week Party so there was no shortage of glitz and glamour. Before guests arrived, Lisa and Alex posed for portraits amongst the sleek white party decor courtesy of Luxe Event in our main event space.
Lisa's soft makeup was done by New York-based Estee Lauder National Makeup Artist, Derek Miller, and her hair was styled by Valery Joseph Salon. She wore classic Tiffany Legacy Collection earrings in platinum with diamonds, borrowed from the flagship New York Tiffany & Co. store.
Lisa's amazing lace dress designed by Monique Lhuillier was the perfect length for transitioning easily from ceremony to reception.
The groom wore Daniel Cremieux for Dillard's, and his white boutonniere, created by Martha Stewart Weddings contributing editor Matthew Robbins, looked crisp against this black lapel.
Around 1,200 fabulous party-goers and wedding industry legends helped us celebrate Lisa and Alex and the exciting start to New York Bridal Fashion Week, a series of runway shows debuting the season's hottest wedding dresses.
Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Steve Tyrell serenaded the happy couple for their first dance to "Just The Way You Look Tonight". Tyrell sang in the "Father of the Bride" films and took over for Bobby Short at the Carlyle Hotel in New York. Of course, our lovebirds had to stay at the Carlyle on their wedding night too.
Matthew Robbins included the New York state flower (roses) in Lisa's bouquet that was wrapped with black and white checkered ribbon insipired by checkered cabs. The bride tossed her bundle at the end of the festivities, and the lucky gal who caught it won dinner for two at the classic New York restaurant Le Cirque.
New York cake baker Sylvia Weinstock presented a cake she created for the couple, along with a Martha Stewart Collection cake knife for cutting the first slice.
Martha Stewart Weddings Editorial Director Darcy Miller smiled for the camera for a few shots with our happy couple. We featured Darcy's glamorous New York City wedding a few years back.
Lisa and Alex took a break to pose in front of our paper flower covered photo booth from Smile Booth with a few appropriate props.
Edible white Empire State Buildings for the bride and groom and taxis by Martine's Chocolates were the perfect party favor for this Big Apple wedding.
Other sweet surprises included black and white cookies in boxes inspired by a New York taxi cab from One Girl Cookies, and mini bourbon bottle favors by Cacao Prieto made in their local Brooklyn distillery.
Joe Switzer of Switzerfilm shot amazing footage throughout the evening to create a truly magical wedding video. Take a look (we suggest viewing it in full-screen mode), and check out the livestream of the event here.
