When designing her Fall 2021 wedding dress collections—both her eponymous signature and couture lines—Ines Di Santo called on cherished memories she's culled throughout her life. A specific one that permeates throughout the series? Hand-painting her now-grown daughter's childhood dresses. Take a sweeping look at the creative's latest couture series, and that recollection becomes illustrated in real time. Romantic silk organza appliqués dominate; a select few numbers feature blush, blue, and green touches, a more obvious translation of Di Santo's nostalgic watercolor creations.
Since these gowns' details were inspired by such sweet, light-hearted memories, it only made sense to keep the overarching structure of the ensembles airy, as well. To do so, the designer reimagined more structured silhouettes and brought them to life with lightweight fabrics—opting for see-through laces and translucent tulle layers (a brand signature!), specifically. And though the sparks behind the overarching series lie in the past, the final oeuvre is, without a doubt, perfect for the contemporary bride. Di Santo wants her work to speak to the "the sensual spirit of the modern bride" and the "visionary moments she inspires," read a press release.
The Ines Di Santo Fall 2021 bridal collection delivers on that wish. Complete with a broad range of styles fit for any bride-to-be of this day and age, the nostalgic collection simultaneously encourages brides to look forward—and inspires every bride-to-be to create her own memories while wearing one. Ahead, you can experience all of the soulful, personal ensembles for yourself.
